The Undying Love of God

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only Begotten Son that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” – John 3:16 (NKJV)

The abovementioned Scripture encapsulates God’s undying love for humanity. His love is eternal because it transcends from conception to resurrection. His love is not discriminatory but rather all-inclusive, for it covers persons of every race, religion, ethnicity, nationality, class, caste, and creed.

Jesus counts us all as His friends. He stated in John 15:13 (NKJV), “Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.” This Scripture verse highlights the ultimate act of love, which is sacrificing one’s own life for the sake of another person. Jesus, our Saviour King, laid down His life for all humanity. When one conceptualises the magnitude of Jehovah God’s decision to send His only begotten Son, Jesus, to die for murderers, blasphemers, liars, thieves, whoremongers, sorcerers, racists, and every class of sinner – it speaks volumes of the magnanimous nature of a loving God.

Thus, it begs the question, which earthly father would sacrifice the life of his only son for the lives of wicked people? Most, if not all, loving parents would decline the offer. But, saints of God, you and I are part of the “whosoever believes in Him” in John 3:16. Our decision to believe has resulted in the activation of His transformational power in our lives, from sinner to saint, from victim to victor, from being foolish to becoming wise and from being a lover of the world to becoming a lover of God. The love benefits of His Salvation are too numerous to mention.

Forgiveness of past, present, and future sins of the believers is a major component of God’s undying love for you and me. He acknowledges the fact that once we are made of flesh and blood, we will sin in word, thought, and deed (Matthew 15:19) as the soul consistently battles the human spirit for control over the activities of the body (Romans 7:19-25). Based on the foregoing reality, God, in His wisdom, gave us His Holy Spirit to sanctify us continuously so that we may submit ourselves to Him and resist the enemy’s temptations (James 4:7).

Friends, cherish God’s undying love. His Salvation is free, but His Son Jesus paid the price for it with His life. Come into His kingdom as we prepare for eternity.
